La Pacho- Paulownia, .04 oz Maple shaft. The top ring is La Pacho, a fine chocolate-green. Over time the green will become more prominent with oxidation. From the mesquite forests of Argentina, it is not plentiful, but is not an endangered species. It is a very hard wood. The botttom light in color and weight wood is Paulownia, also known as Princess tree or Blue Catalpa. Originally indigenous to China and Japan (used for furniture and shoes), it has been transplanted to North America where it nows grows wild alongside roads. Very soft, with an open grain.
